Ingredients

  • 20 fresh strawberries washed and dried completely
  • 200 g dark chocolate 70% cocoa or more, gluten-free
  • 100 g white chocolate for drizzling, optional
  • 2 tablespoons crushed pistachios
  • 1 tablespoon dried edible rose petals
  • 1 teaspoon edible gold dust optional, for luxury finish

Equipment

  • Heatproof mixing bowl
  • Saucepan (for double boiler method)
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking tray
  • Small piping bag (or spoon for drizzling)
  • Forks or skewers for dipping

Method

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries carefully. Ensure they are completely dry, as moisture prevents the chocolate from sticking.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate using a double boiler: place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan with simmering water. Stir until smooth.
  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem or insert a skewer, then dip into the melted chocolate. Gently shake off excess chocolate.
  4. Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle toppings such as crushed pistachios, rose petals, or gold dust for a Middle Eastern luxury touch.
  6. If using, melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the strawberries for contrast.
  7. Allow the strawberries to set at room temperature, or refrigerate for quicker results.
  8. Serve fresh or store in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
